OTIS REDDING, How can you talk about good listening music and not say anything about OTIS REDDING, OTIS RAY REDDING was born in Dawson Georgia on September 9,1941 to gospel singer OTIS REDDING SR, and housekeeper FANNIE REDDING ,OTIS Father worked as a sharecropper, then at Robins Air Force Base and as a part time preacher, When OTIS was three, The family moved to Tildall Heights,a predominantly black public housing project in nearby Macon , At the age of 15 OTIS abandoned school to help his family financially, His father had contracted tuberculosis and was often hospitalized, Leaving his mother as the family`s primary financial provider .OTIS later worked as a well digger ,gas station attendant and guest musician, In 1958, OTIS joined Johnny Jenkins band ,
The Pinetoppers and touredthe southern United States as driver and musician, An unscheduled appearance ona stax recording session led to a contract and OTIS first
single,THESE ARMS OF MINE, In 1962 stax released OTIS debut album, PAIN IN MY HEART, The rest is history!!!

One of the most controversial statement i will make to this day

Donny Hathawy`s The Ghetto,Donny was born october 1, 1945 in Chicago, He was raised by his
grandmother, Martha Pitts, also was known as Martha Crumwell,
Donny his grandmother lived in the Carr Square Housing Projects in St, Louis, Donny began singing
in a church chior with his grandmother,
Donny graduated from Vashon High School in 1963,He then studied music on a fine arts scholarship
at Howard University in Washington, D, C, where he was classmate and close friends with Roberta Flack and a member as well of the Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity.
Donny also formed a jazz trio to work around the local area with drummer Ric Powell ,
In 1967 Donny left Howard without a degree ,after receiving job offers in the music business,
Hathaway also worked as a songwriter, session musician and producer, Working first at Chicago`s Twinight
records, later he did arrangements for,The Unifics, ( Court of Love ),and ( The Beginning of my End ),
Donny also worked with The Staple Singers, Jerry Butler, Aretha Franklyn, The Impression and Curtis Mayfield, Donny was married to a lady whom he met during his years at Howard University ( Eulaulah )
they had two daughters, Eulaulah Donyll, (Lalah Hathaway ),and ( Kenya ), Lalah has enjoyed a successful
solo career, While Kenya is one of the three backing voclists on the hit TV program American Idol,
Donny Hathaway died at the age of (33 ), on January 13 ,1979 in New York City at the Essex House
